The summer semester 2020 was a very extraordinary one in every sense. Sometimes you just had to shout it out: Fuck off, Corona! It took us to all sorts of limits and revealed unexpected possibilities to … set off, play on, play off, carry on, type off, mind off, turn on, get off, cool off, switch on, knock off, take on, cut off — to be online and offline, and in this state of mind all the time on and off.

Marvin Backes, Pauline Borgmann, Katharina Fohry, Johannes Häffner, Janina Lang, Svenja Okrusch, Sara Nguyen, Mira Schleinig and Jacob Tegel are showing their results of this year's course on typeface design. Besides the type design term assignment, carvings were created from a piece of wood using a pocket knife. In a sense, both of these activities are very similar - thanks to all participants, Niko and Felix.
